Nothing beats the feeling of seeing your game come to life and playing it for yourself.Since the shifting of RPG Maker MV from the use of RGSS to HTML5 technology and the more open of the development of the engine, of course it give bigger opportunities for game developers to do a lot of customization to the engine. Now your RPG Maker usage is not limited to just making Adventure RPG games, but a number of other genres can also possibly to be created. Let's say: Visual Novel, Turn Based Strategy/Tactical, Point and Click Adventure, Farm Simulator, and even creating Sidescroling Platformer is also possible using the engine.What are the advantages of using RPG Maker MV and MZ for making other genres rather than using an engine that is truly dedicated to those genres or than making your own engine from scratch?Some of the advantages of using the RPG Maker MV and MZ are:<ol><li>HTML5 technology which is used as a base for RPG Maker MV and MZ can be found and used everywhere. A number of giant technology companies are investing to develop HTML5 technology. This ensures that the engine you use will always updated and not become obsolete. The adoption of RPG Maker MV and MZ toward open technology also makes it easy for you to collaborate with your partner using platforms such as GitHub and so on.</li><li>The initial resource that was included when you purchased the RPG Maker MV and MZ ensuring that you have the initial stock to create prototype or doing experiment for your game before you take more serious steps or use your own custom resource. With the addition of various DLCs such as background picture, music, sound effects, animation, sprites, etc. which you can buy only if you have an RPG Maker MV and MZ license certainly gives more choice for you.</li><li>The enthusiasm of the RPG Maker community will makes plugins and tutorials become easy to find on the internet. If you need any help, you can just visit the official RPG Maker forum to ask for a solution or support and you can also advertise your game development to the community.</li><li>Using RPG Maker as your base, makes your game not limited to just one genre, but you can combine various genres at once easily. You can create Visual Novels that have battle scenes in them, where you cannot find similar conveniences if you use an engine that is specifically dedicated only to Visual Novels.</li></ol>What will I do for you?Initially I wanted to make a Tactical Battle System for my game. I have been looking for the right engine for making the game. But unfortunately when I use the engine that I found, our choices are very limited as I cannot combine it with other genres, at least not easily. Fortunately when looking for another alternative, I found an open source Tactical Battle System plugin that I can adapt for RPG Maker MV, namely SRPG Converter by Gakuto Mikagami. This plugin inspired us to create another extension plugin to complete this engine. The first step I did was to localize the plugin so that it could be used by the English speaking developer community. Then I decided to communicate to the original author to offer our support for the development of the SRPG Converter plugin that he created. This event inspired us to create more another alternative engines for you that you can developed on top of RPG Maker MV and MZ technology. What currently I have in our roadmap are:<ol><li>Supporting the process of porting SRPG Engine MV to the latest RPG Maker MZ;</li><li>Porting some extension that become incompatible due to process;</li><li>Documenting the engine, so it is more accessible for the beginner.</li></ol>Why I need your support?Because with your support, I will know that my idea for developing RPG Maker MV and MZ extension for SRPG Engine was accepted and needed by the community.
