2017 REGIONAL SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (RSPC)


The Department of Education Region 7 through Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLN/ID) announces the conduct of the 2017 Regional Schools press Conference s (RSPC) with the theme " Embracing Asean Integration: Campus Journalists role in advancing inclusive education from August to December 2017 at the Division of Cebu City as Host Division.

The Conference and Contests aim to:

a. Display understanding of the significance of Journalism by expressing it through talents and skills in different areas f categories in campus journalism;

b. promote advocacy on social consciousness and environmental awareness;

c. Augment journalistic competence through fair and ethical use of social media and friendly competitions;

d. Enhance journalism competence through healthy and friendly competitions;

e. provide a venue for an enriching learning experience for students interested in Journalism as a career or those who intend to use skill sets learned through campus journalism to give them a better edge in their chosen careers.

The Conference and Contests Activities shall include the following:

a. lndividual Contests:

  • Editorial Writing / Pagsulat ng Editorial
  • Feature Writing / Pagsulat ng Lathalain
  • News Writing / Pagsulat ng Balita
  • SportsWriting/PagsulatngBalitangPampalakasan
  • Copy reading/Headline Writing / Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita
  • Editorial Cartooning / Kartuning
  • Photojournalism / Pagkuha ng Larawan
  • science and Health / Pagsulat ng Pang-Agham at Pangkalusugan
  • Radio Script Writlng and Broadcast Contest;
  • Collaborative and Desktop Publlshing (CDP) ContesU
  • TV Script Writlng and Broadcasting Contest (for Secondary Level);
  • Concurrent Sessions with Workshops for SPAs;
  • Search / Awarding of the Outstanding School Paper Advisers (SPAs) and Campus.Journalism (CJs) for Elementary and Secondary Levels
  • School Publlcation Group Contests

Recognizing and respecting intellectual Property Rights, the Department adheres to the routes concerning plagiarism. This office reiterates its stand to disqualify school papers found to have copied and published texts, graphs, and other materials without duly acknowledging their sources. The qualifications covers all sections of the school paper whether they are published in print or PDF copy.
