A year ago, I got a concussion. Besides the injury, I ended up with anxiety- partly because this was my third concussion, and partly because mental illnesses and brain damage scare the shit out of me. I went to therapy for it, but I would still frequently get bouts of nausea triggered by certain words or actions. A bit of a hard transition here, but I got VR a few months later, and beat saber was my first game. I had a great time playing it, and as I got better and started playing with community-made maps, I was exercising without even realizing it. This helped me go outside again without fear of anxiety attacks. Beat Saber and its community indirectly caused my anxiety to go down, and I've continued to play almost every day since.

The BSMG changed my life by helping me destress. The community also allowed new opportunities to earn some extra cash. Everyone in the community, the players, the mods, and the coders. They're all so nice and its nice to come back to this great community after something stressful

So, you decided to read the long version. Well, here you go: When I started to play Beat Saber, I also started streaming my first ever gaming-content. Up to that point, my life was kind of going downwards in a spiral, but whenever I played Beat Saber (also other VR-games, but mostly Beat Saber), I felt a bit like in another world. It all became so much better though, when I noticed that hitting bloq in VR was actually something I was really (like REALLY) good at for once!

So I played it more and more and after about a month, I did my first modded stream. I got custom avatars, custom platforms, custom sabers and all that good stuff and it made Beat Saber a whole new experience!

I was basically already bored with the original 10 songs that were on there and I didn't even know that mods already existed.

That was basically what I found most astounding: That fact that not even a month after release, there was already a complete modding-system, along with a multitude of mods and hundreds of custom songs to play! I started streaming multiple times per week and my Twitch-channel grew to a size I would have never believed it would ever be. We built an awesome community, I met many new friends, and even my first ever love of my life! My community basically got me out of debt, got me out of depression and heck, got me out of my solitude.

If it hadn't been for the awesome community in the Beat Saber Modding Group, I would have never played Beat Saber for longer than a month, maybe two and in extension, I would probably never have met all these amazing people, all these new friends I now have and love and also my girlfriend, who I was finally able to meet just two weeks ago! And thanks to my amazing community and friends, who supported me, both emotionally and also financially (and they always say "money is where friendship ends"), I was able to make her two weeks here a truly wonderful time for both of us. I can't express enough gratitude towards everyone that helped me get there.

I want to take this moment and thank some of my most amazing friends ever. Thank you all so so much from the bottom of my heart.

This goes out to: My love Mina <3 Syilvence Maccroc Madelen Mitten Tzavti Miss Mellow Zero Swordman Panda My boi Katto My bro Neko (Sub to NekoACS on YouTube) My sis Joy And everyone else on my Discord-Server and Twitch-Channel!

I would definitely not be where I am now if it wasn't for you. I love you all and this is dedicated to you and I hope we'll all be friends forever.
